Create a memorial
Many of us know how hard it is to say goodbye to someone we care about. With a memorial you give a loved one who has passed away an honourable internet resting place.
What can you add?
- Personal details
- A portrait photo and up to five extra photos, for example the memorial card, the real grave, a passion or a family photo
- A quote that characterises the person
- A sound clip (mp3, max. 2 MB)
- The biography
- An In Memoriam web link to a site of your own about the deceased
- The virtual resting place: a place of your choice, anywhere in the world
- Family relations: father and mother (when they are on Troostplek too), so a family tree grows
In three steps
- Sign up with your name, e-mail address and a password.
- Confirm your e-mail address with the button in the e-mail you receive.
- Fill in the memorial for someone who has passed away. It appears on Troostplek straight away.

A memorial is for someone who has passed away; you cannot create a memorial for yourself. There is no need to add famous Dutch people who have passed away: we add them ourselves.
