Troostplek handles your data with care. This is what we keep and why:

• Account: your name, e-mail address and password (only stored encrypted), to log in and manage memorials.
• Condolences and flowers: the name and text you place (public), and your e-mail address if you fill it in (never public).
• Reports: what you report with the ! button and, if you fill them in, your name and e-mail address, to handle the report.
• Security: the IP address when logging in, signing up and placing messages, to prevent misuse. Failed attempts are deleted after two days.
• Visits: for each memorial the site counts how often it is viewed per day, without keeping anything about the visitor; this is how the photos at the top of the resting places are chosen.
• Cookies: only a session cookie that is needed to stay logged in. No tracking, no advertising cookies.
